![]() Nightline, established in 1992 delivers more than 35,000 parcels every day to every town and village in Ireland including Northern Ireland. High value commodities such as consumer electronics, software and electrical goods are an important part of its business model. Its fleet of over 300 trucks and vans has the latest GPS & GPRS communications technology which allows the client to track every single product in real time. The company also has a sales office in Manchester and operates partnership agreements with courier & freight services in the UK and throughout the world. Nightline operates a next day courier service to and from the UK by air in partnership with UK Mail / Business Post. Links with other international partners ensures clients have the same high quality service for the collection and delivery of packages throughout the world. ![]() Mr. John Tuohy, Managing Director Nightline explains “We have a proven track record in excellent reliability and quality of service. The company is continuously investing in improved technology in systems and equipment and it is this ethos that must also be demonstrated by Nightline’s self employed van operators and contracted haulage providers. In order to maintain this quality of service, it is important that the fleet of vans and trucks operated on our behalf is of the highest standards in terms of safety, reliability, fuel efficiency and environmental impact. We also place a great emphasis on the quality of service provided by our haulage contractors – one of whom is TS Transport”. Damien Smith and Ciaran Treacy are at the helm of TS Transport. From the mid-nineties the company had a fleet of up to 20 vans contracted to various parcel delivery companies around Dublin Airport. As customer needs changed the fleet evolved into a Rigid and Tractor-Trailer based operation servicing 32 counties and the UK. Apart from regular pallet freight, TS Transport also caters to the Airfreight-Rollerbed requirements of various clients. According to Ciaran Treacy, “We have been providing Nightline with Fleet Services since 1998 and they have always formed a central part of the service we provide”. John Tuohy, Nightline, explains, “We worked with TS Transport, our preferred haulage contractor in the Dublin region, to select the new Scania Trucks. Having consulted with the experts at McElvaney Motors, one of Ireland’s leading Scania Dealers and recently appointed Volkswagen Partner, we decided on the type of truck that would best suit our requirements. We chose the Scania P230 for its aesthetic appeal as well as for its advanced technology, versatility and functionality. These trucks are fitted with the latest Scania EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) Technology which can achieve EURO V emission standards without the addition of Ad-Blue therefore ensuring reduced carbon emissions. This will help reduce the environmental impact of our delivery operation in line with company policy.” ![]() In conclusion John adds, “It is for these reasons, coupled with the excellent After Sales Care and Back-Up Support Services that McElvaney Motors provides, that left us in no doubt that we were making the right decision in terms of truck and supplier”. According to Adrian McElvaney, MD McElvaney Motors, “We are delighted that Nightline and TS Transport chose the four Scania trucks and are proud to be associated with such professional companies. We would like to take this opportunity to wish Ciaran (TS Transport) and John (Nightline) all the very best with their trucks”. ![]()
